Say Cheese!

This week I have been spending lots of time with our neighbour Kate Periwinkle –  she takes photos for our village newsletter, The Primrose Pastures Periodical and has been helping me with my new hobby.

We decided that it would be nice to take a portrait of all the families that live in the village – which everyone thought would be a lovely idea. It was quite a task getting everyone to stand still and smile at the same time, but it was also lots of fun!
Here is  a photo that Miss Kate took of me trying to get the Keats family to “Say Cheese!” at the same time:

l-r: The Keats: Shelley, Ross, Bronte, Philip and Eliot (… and me!)

Tilly: Everybody ready? Say Cheese!

Bronte: Oh, one moment Tilly. *Turning to Philip* Philip darling,  you must  stay still – you’re going to ruin the picture!

Philip: But Mummy, I need to go potty!

Everybody had a fit of the giggles and Miss Bronte had to rush little Philip home, but soon enough their family picture was complete.

And this is one Miss Kate took when it was Miss Marion and the Brighteyes twins turn:

l-r Pierce, Marion and Belinda (… and me – again!)

Belinda: Tilly, don’t forget to capture my good side.

Pierce: *Scoff* How will she know?

Belinda: Mum! Tell him to leave me alone!

Pierce: *Mocking her in a high-pitched voice* Mu-um, tell him to leave me alo-one

Marion: Pierce! Behave yourself.

The Brighteyes twins argued the whole time but I finally managed to get a nice picture of them, and of the rest of my friends and neighbours.

Miss Kate says that I have a good eye, but I know I still have a lot to learn.

My Family in Pictures

Dear Diary,

My family got a new camera this week and we have been taking lots of pictures!

Here’s my Mama with the twins, she’s always chasing after them…

Double Trouble – Mama & the Twins

…and when she’s not chasing after the twins, she’s cleaning up after all of us kids.

My Daddy is always in the kitchen making us delicious meals and scrumptious treats…

… and now he’s going to be making these treats for everyone in our village (… more on that later!)

My brother, Peter, is so annoying because he always hogs the tv…

… but worse than that he is a trouble maker and likes jumping on the bed with his best friend, Collin Chocolate! I wouldn’t mind, but they jump on my bed too!

When the twins aren’t with Mama, they like to spend time in their playroom…

…and me?

Well, I like to make up stories and play board games with my friends and exchange letters with my pen-pal and bestest friend Morgan Columbus… I’ll share some of them soon 🙂

My week was super busy, but at least it was a lot of fun!

Bye for now!

My Family

Dear Diary,

My name is Tilly Dappledawn. I am 8 and 3/4 and this is my very first diary.

My favourite colour is pink, like my glasses.

I like to read, to help my mama with my baby brother and sister and to play with my friends.

My mama is called Theodora she tells the best stories and my daddy is called Rue and he is the best cook in the world!

I am the big sister of four kids. I have one sister called Daisy and two brothers called Dillon and Peter.

Daisy and Dillon are twins – they are really noisy and make a lot of mess!

Peter is four and he is very annoying because he always plays with my stuff and he doesn’t put it back nicely and he never lets me watch what I want on TV!

Mama says we fight too much, but it’s not my fault – Peter always bugs me!

Well that’s all for now, I hope you’ve enjoyed this quick look at my family 🙂

*Note from the author: I didn’t like their original names so I renamed Herbage the father, Cotton the female twin baby and Radish the brother.
